Begin with the question, rather than a product, platform, or prescribed answer.
Many consequential decisions become harder as they cross disciplines. Technology intersects with policy. Operations intersect with institutions. Infrastructure shapes strategy. Local choices become dependent on systems operating elsewhere.
Specialist expertise remains essential. But a collection of specialist answers does not automatically provide a usable model of the whole situation.
The practice is organized around that gap: defining the problem, investigating its context, and clarifying the decisions within it.
Precision without
false certainty.
A conclusion should be no stronger than the evidence that supports it.
Uncertainty is a condition of the work, not an inconvenience to be concealed. The useful question is where it matters: which unknowns change the choice, which can be reduced, and which must be managed through the decision itself.
